1960 Chevrolet C 60 "Viking"
Manufactured by the Chevrolet Motor Division, General Motors Corporation of Detroit, Michigan
This truck is rated at 2.5 tons and was from the first year of production for this new body
style. A Chevrolet built, 235 C.I.D., in line, six cylinder engine that develops 127 h.p. @
3600 rpm, powers it. The transmission has four forward speeds and uses a vacuum
operated two-speed rear axle. It has a G.V.W. of 19,500-pounds. In 1960, Chevrolet
built 58,138 trucks in the 16,001 to 19,500-pounds G.V.W. class. This truck was operated
in Los Angeles.
