
1961 Mack Model B61
Manufactured by the Mack Truck Company, Plainfield, New Jersey. This Mack dump truck is powered by a ENDLB675 six-cylinder,
Mack Diesel engine and a quadruplex transmission, which provides for twenty forward gears. The engine has
a 4 7/8" x 6" bore and stroke (672 CID) and a maximum governed speed of2270 rpm. This truck is composed
entirely of Mack built parts. The dump bed is operated by hydraulics, which are powered from the transmission.
The capacity of the bed is ten yards. In 1960, the Mack Company employed roughly 11,000 workers at three plants.
The B Model Mack truck was introduced in 1953 and ran for thirteen continuous years. The last Mack B came off the
production line on April 28, 1966. 124,847 B cabs were produced and all featured the "million mile" cab with utilized construction and
a four-point diamond mounting system for maximum safety and driver comfort. The B series was replaced by a new line, which included
the U, R, and DM series.
