International Harvester TD-6.
Manufactured by the International Harvester Co., Chicago, Illinois. The "Six" series was the smallest crawler that International Harvester produced when the new tractor line up came out in 1939. They were available with either a gasoline engine (the T-6) or with a diesel engine (TD-6). The T-6 and TD-6 were produced from 1939 to 1956 with a total of 38,449 units built. The TD-6 used an International 4 cylinder diesel engine with a 3 7/8" x 5 1/4" bore and stroke. It produced 34 1/2 brake horsepower when it was tested at the University of Nebraska in 1940. Among the larger International track-layers built at this time were the TD-9, TD-14, TD-18, and TD-24. This TD-6 is owned by the Museum.
